Nabab Hussain is seven years old.

At an age when most children should be thinking about school, games and the small adventures that make up childhood, his family has spent years thinking about something very different: doctors, treatments and whether the next attempt will finally help their son.

He has been living with lymphatic malformation, a condition that has continued to affect him despite the treatment his family has tried over the years. His parents have taken him to different doctors, hoping each time that they would finally find something that worked. They kept going because they had no other choice. When it is your child, you keep looking, even when the money starts running out and the answers do not come.

But after years of trying, his family is still searching for a way forward.

A Family That Lives With Very Little

The boy lives with his parents and his younger brother. His mother is a homemaker, while his father is the only earning member of the family. He works at a motorcycle garage, earning his livelihood through daily work.

Their home is a modest kachha house, and even the family's basic expenses have to be carefully managed. There is no second income to fall back on and no financial cushion for an unexpected medical expense.

His education has also been affected by the family's financial situation. Going to school regularly has not always been possible because even the cost of keeping a child in school can become difficult for a family that is struggling to meet its everyday needs.

For his parents, however, his illness has always come first. 

They Have Already Spent ₹2.5 to ₹3 Lakh

Before reaching the present stage of treatment, his family had already spent approximately ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh trying to help him.

For a family whose income comes from one person's work at a motorcycle garage, this is not a small amount. It represents money that had to be arranged over time, expenses that had to be managed, and sacrifices that were made because they believed their son could get better.

But despite the money they have spent and the doctors they have consulted, the problem has continued.

There is still no certainty about how his treatment will progress. What his parents do know is that they cannot simply stop trying. Their son is seven years old, and they want to give him every possible opportunity to receive the care recommended by his doctors.

His Doctors Have Recommended a Long Treatment

According to the medical assessment from SK Care Hospital, Raipur, he has been diagnosed with lymphatic malformation and requires a detailed medical evaluation, including immunology and genetic assessment.

The recommended treatment includes immuno-modulators, skin care management, treatment for secondary infections, and organ support with supportive surgery if required.

This will not be a short hospital visit. The hospital has estimated that his treatment may continue for two to three months, including the necessary travel and stay.

The estimated cost of treatment is approximately ₹12.80 lakh.

For his father, who is the family's only earning member, this is far beyond what his daily income can support. The family has already spent several lakhs trying to find a solution. They now face a treatment estimate that is several times larger than everything they have managed to spend so far.

His Parents Are Running Out of Options, Not Hope

There is a particular kind of helplessness that comes when parents have already done everything they know how to do.

They have taken their child to doctors. They have spent their savings. They have tried different treatments. They have continued despite having very little.

And yet, they are still standing at the beginning of another long medical journey.

His father continues to work at the garage because the family still needs food, school expenses and a roof over their heads. His mother continues to care for both her children at home. Neither of them has the financial ability to suddenly arrange ₹12.80 lakh.

But giving up on their son is not something they are ready to do. 

He Deserves More Than a Childhood of Treatment

There is still so much childhood ahead of him.

There are school mornings he should be able to experience without his health becoming the first concern. There are friendships he should be able to build. There is a younger brother beside him with whom he should be able to grow up and share all the ordinary memories that siblings make.

His parents are not asking for a life of luxury for their children. They are trying to secure something much more basic: the opportunity for their son to receive the treatment he needs and have a future that is not defined entirely by his illness.

Help His Family Continue the Fight

His parents have already spent approximately ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh trying to help him. They have done what a family with very limited means could do.

Now they are facing an estimated treatment cost of ₹12.80 lakh and a two to three month treatment journey.

They cannot carry this burden alone.

For this seven-year-old boy, medical treatment is not simply another expense. It is an opportunity to change what the next few years of his childhood can look like.

His parents have spent years looking for an answer. They are still looking because they have not given up on their son. Now, they need people who can help them continue.
