The Baby Who’s Been Fighting Since Birth

Usman entered this world under the harshest circumstances. Born months before full term, his tiny lungs were not strong enough to breathe on their own. His heartbeat was faint, his body fragile. In those first few minutes, he was whisked away to the NICU, placed under tubes, wires, and machines — fighting for every single breath.Since that moment, Usman has lived inside a hospital room. He’s never seen the world outside. He’s never been cradled in his mother’s arms. And his parents — both physically disabled since birth — have never been able to even hold their baby.

A Mother’s Womb Gave Him Life. But Now, She Watches From a Distance.

Every time Usman’s mother looks at her baby lying motionless, connected to wires and tubes, a hundred fears race through her heart. Will he live to see his first birthday? Will she ever get to feed him, cradle him, hear him cry out for her? What if… she loses him before she even gets a chance to be his mother? As someone with a physical disability herself, she has already faced a lifetime of struggle — but nothing has broken her the way this helplessness has. Her husband, also disabled, sits by her side day after day, unable to do anything but pray. They are doing everything they can. But love alone cannot pay for ventilators. Hope cannot buy medicine.

A Weak Heart. Damaged Lungs. And Lakhs to Survive.

Usman has been diagnosed with multiple critical complications in his heart and lungs. His premature birth has left his organs underdeveloped. He is fully dependent on ventilator support and NICU care 24/7. Doctors say he must stay under observation and treatment for at least two more months — or his tiny body won’t survive.

The estimated cost for all this? ₹15,00,000.

For two parents who don’t even earn enough to feed themselves properly, this amount is unimaginable. Their physical disabilities limit their ability to work, and right now, their only ability is to hope that someone, somewhere, will care enough to help.

“What if he’s disabled like us?”

This question haunts them. Not just because they’ve faced rejection, poverty, and pain their whole lives — but because they know what it means to grow up without support. They’re terrified their child will not just inherit their struggles… but may not even survive to see them.Usman is just a baby. He doesn’t know the world yet. But he’s already fighting harder than most of us ever will.

Why Your Help Could Be the Miracle They’re Praying For

Each rupee you give goes directly toward:

  • Continued NICU care
  • Heart and lung-related treatment
  • Life-saving medication
  • Feeding support and oxygen supply

You won’t just be saving a child.
You’ll be giving two parents a future they thought they’d never have — the future of watching their son grow, smile, and live.

They Don’t Have Hands Strong Enough to Carry Their Baby — But Your Hands Can Lift Him Out of This

This isn’t just a fundraiser.
It’s a cry for help. From a family that has suffered too much… and asked for nothing.

But this time, they’re asking. For their son. For Usman.

He has already fought for four months. Let’s not make him fight alone.

Be the reason this baby goes home — not to a hospital bed, but to a mother’s arms.

Because sometimes, your kindness is someone’s last hope.

📅 Date: 4 September, 2025

When little Usman was born months before his due date, the world seemed far too heavy for his tiny lungs and fragile heart. He was rushed straight into the NICU, connected to tubes, wires, and machines before his mother could even hold him. For weeks, she could only watch from a distance, aching for the moment she could cradle her baby in her arms. Both of Usman’s parents live with physical disabilities. They knew hardship, rejection, and pain all too well. But nothing broke them like watching their only child fight for every single breath. Their disabilities limited their work opportunities, and with the cost of intensive care reaching into lakhs, they felt helpless. The fear of losing Usman before he had a chance to live haunted them every day.

That’s when the Mitaan Foundation stepped in.Moved by his story, we launched a fundraiser for Usman’s treatment. The goal was to collect donations for months of NICU care, ventilator support, and critical treatment for his weak heart and lungs.

Within days, donors across the country came together. Every rupee became oxygen, every share turned into medicine, and every prayer gave Usman one more chance at life. Piece by piece, hope began to replace despair.

With the funds raised and the support of our partner hospitals, Usman received round-the-clock medical care. He stayed under ventilator support until his lungs grew stronger. His heart condition was stabilized with treatment and medication. Slowly, the wires and tubes began to reduce. And then came the moment his mother had waited for since the day of his birth, the day she finally held her son. For the first time, Usman wasn’t surrounded by machines; he was surrounded by love.

Today, Usman is breathing on his own. He still requires monitoring and follow-up visits, but his journey of survival is nothing short of a miracle. From a baby who lived entirely in a hospital bed, he is now beginning to know the comfort of home, the warmth of his parents’ embrace, and the promise of a future. For his parents, this is more than just a medical recovery. It is dignity restored, a second chance at parenthood, and the hope that their son will grow up without the same struggles they endured.

At Mitaan Foundation, Usman’s story is a reminder of why we never give up. Behind every wire, every ventilator, and every bill is a child waiting to live and parents waiting to dream again. To everyone who donated, shared, and prayed: thank you. You didn’t just save a baby. You gave a mother her first embrace, a father his first smile of relief, and a family their future.

This is what collective kindness can do. This is what hope looks like

📅 Date: 23 July, 2025

We’re glad to share that Usman’s surgical procedures are set to begin on July 23. After weeks of preparation, the medical team is now in the final stages of getting everything ready—from clinical planning to logistical arrangements.

While most of the groundwork is in place, we anticipate a few more requirements in the coming days—both in terms of care and support. That said, the coordination between the doctors, family, and supporters like you has been incredible.

There’s a quiet confidence in the room now. The kind that only happens when people come together for something truly important.

Thank you for standing by Usman. Your continued support ensures that he enters this phase with strength, dignity, and the care he deserves.

Note - Any amount raised beyond the required treatment cost will be used to support other individuals who were less fortunate and could not receive the help they needed.
