That incident left Fulmatiya with severe facial burns and tissue damage. She survived. But the pain didn’t end. Since then, her wounds have reopened multiple times. Her face has already scarred and has become worse due to PBC (a rare skin condition). Her eyes, nose, lips, and cheeks have swollen abnormally. Even breathing and eating are a struggle now. She needs multiple plastic and reconstructive surgeries, skin grafts, ICU monitoring, and long-term medication. The estimated cost of the full treatment is ₹14.65 lakhs. But Fulmatiya has no source of income. No savings. And no family to depend on except one person.
It’s just her daughter. And she is soon getting married.Fulmatiya’s son is married and lives separately with his wife. He has completely cut ties and provides no financial or emotional support to his mother. Her daughter is the only one caring for her, doing everything from dressing wounds to taking her to the hospital despite their financial hardships. But now, this daughter is also getting married. Soon, Fulmatiya will be completely alone.
They are barely surviving by borrowing money from friends, neighbours, and distant relatives to manage daily needs. A surgery costing lakhs is beyond what they can even dream of affording.
“She never asks for anything,” her daughter says, wiping away tears.
“She just says, I want to eat without pain. I want to sit in the sun without people staring.” Right now, Fulmatiya's condition is not just painful, it’s dignity-crushing. She covers her face when she steps out. She can’t attend functions. She avoids relatives. Her life has shrunk to one bed and one room.
But with timely treatment, she can heal. She can smile again. She can eat, breathe, and walk pain-free.
All she needs… is a little help from you.
Fulmatiya’s condition is worsening with each passing day. Doctors have warned that delaying the surgeries could make recovery impossible.
The cost includes:
There’s no government aid. No pension. No insurance. The daughter is unable to even afford the next hospital visit.
This is a heartfelt appeal. For a woman who has no one. For a daughter who is trying her best. For a face that’s lost its shape but not its soul. Please, donate whatever you can. Your contribution can bring back not just Fulmatiya’s health, but her self-worth.

Fulmatiya recently underwent further testing to assess her eyesight. Unfortunately, the results showed partial to no response in the retina, which means her vision recovery may be more challenging than we had hoped.
However, there is good news — the doctors have confirmed that the planned procedures for improving her mobility and reducing skin irritation can go ahead. These surgeries will help ease her movement and bring her some much-needed physical relief.
For her eyesight, we are not giving up. Our team is now seeking a second opinion from a leading medical institute that has offered to review her case in detail. We are hopeful that with expert guidance, we can explore all possible options for her vision.
Thank you for continuing to stand with Fulmatiya during this journey. Your support is giving her the strength to keep moving forward. 🙏

We are glad to share that Fulmatiya’s medical team is preparing for the next phase of her treatment. Doctors will soon begin procedures to improve her mobility by addressing the burn contractures that have limited her movement for years.
Her eyesight may require a transplant, depending on the availability of a suitable donor and further medical evaluation. As for her facial injuries, the upcoming procedures will be mostly cosmetic. Given her age, she may still require support and monitoring even after surgery.
The good news is that a committed team of Mitaan volunteers is already active in her area, so long-term follow-up and care won’t be a challenge.
We’re hopeful for the best outcomes and will continue to keep you updated as her treatment progresses. Thank you for standing by her. 🙏
