Kamna is just 4 years old. At an age when she should’ve been learning the alphabet, she’s instead learning how to hide her pain. The only child of her parents, Kamna was born with rashes on her neck. Her parents immediately tookher to the local doctor in their village in Kanker, Chhattisgarh — but without the right diagnosis, the condition only worsened. What began as harmless rashes soon turned into swelling, and that swelling became unbearable pain.
Today, Kamna is battling a serious condition called Vascular Malformation (Cystic Hygroma) — a rare growth in her neck that makes it difficult for her to even breathe. Doctors have advised urgent surgery, but the cost of treatment is a staggering ₹12.63 lakhs — a sum her father, a daily-wage laborer, could never afford. He earns just enough to provide basic meals for the family. How can he possibly arrange lakhs for a life-saving surgery?
Kamna doesn’t understand money. All she wants is to go to school like otherchildren. But when she tries, her classmates tease her. Even teachers look at her with concern. So she hides. She cries. And she keeps asking her parents, “When willI get better?” But her parents have no answer. They cry too — not because they’ve given up, but because they know that without help, they cannot save their daughter.
They’ve knocked on every door they could. Now, they’re knocking on yours. Will you help Kamna get her childhood back?
