Two years ago, Sahilya Bai, a 29-year-old woman, walked into her kitchen like any other day. She never came out the same. A tragic accident left her with severe burns covering nearly 60–65% of her body. What should have been immediate medical care turned into years of silent suffering, because her husband simply did not have the money to treat her. Since that day, Sahilya has not lived.
She has only survived.
Sahilya cannot speak properly.
She cannot work.
She cannot move freely.
Her body is covered in painful scars. The burns have changed her face and body so much that people are scared to come near her. Even children run away. Her own children are afraid of her.
With tears in her eyes, Sahilya says,
“I want to die. But if I die, who will take care of my children?”
This is not a thought of weakness.
This is the cry of a mother who feels she has become a burden instead of a protector.

Her husband tries to earn, but work is not guaranteed. On some days, he earns around ₹200. On many days, he earns nothing at all.
There is no stable income.
There are no savings.
There is no support.
Doctors remain out of reach because even traveling to a hospital costs money they do not have.
No one gives Sahilya work.
No one helps her husband.
No one stands with them.
They are slowly drowning in poverty, pain, and helplessness.

Her husband says quietly,
“If I don’t get money, my wife will die. And my children will be left alone.”
This family is not asking for comfort.
They are asking for survival.
Doctors have estimated that Sahilya’s treatment, including long term burn care and reconstructive procedures, will cost ₹6,78,450. For this family, this amount is impossible to arrange on their own.
Without treatment, Sahilya’s condition will continue to worsen, physically and mentally.
At Mitaan Foundation, we have promised that Sahilya Bai will not be left to suffer alone.
But we cannot do this without you.
Your support can help her receive medical treatment.
Your support can help her children feel safe again.
Your support can give this family a chance to live with dignity.

She did not choose this pain.
She did not choose this fire.
She did not choose this life.
But together, we can choose to help her.
Please donate.
Please share her story.
Sometimes, saving a life is not about miracles.
It is about not looking away.
Stand with Sahilya Bai. Stand with her children.
