On 14th December, Tejas Gupta went out to watch a movie. It was supposed to be an ordinary evening. Instead, it became the night that shattered his family forever. While returning from the highway, Tejas met with a devastating accident. His bike lost control and crashed into the divider. The impact was so violent that his head smashed directly against it.A policeman found him and made a call to his family.
That call changed everything.
When Tejas’s parents reached the hospital, they could not recognize their own child. His father says, “When I saw my son, half of his head was gone. From his head to his eye, it looked like something had eaten him.” Tejas’s face was completely crushed. Doctors later explained that most of the bones in his face and skull were destroyed.
His skull bone. His cheekbone. Even the bones protecting his brain.Everything would need to be rebuilt artificially.
Tejas was first taken to a government hospital. The doctors looked at his injuries and said they could not help. His parents rushed him to Trauma Centre, Lucknow. There too, they were told the same thing. “Beyond help.” Someone then suggested Medanta Hospital as a last ray of hope. If anyone could save Tejas, it would be them. They admitted him to Medanta.
It has now been over one month.
Doctors performed complex procedures and plastic surgeries. They explained that Tejas would need artificial bones, reconstructive surgery for his skull, and plastic surgery to open and repair his eye. A few days ago, doctors mentioned that there was 1–2% improvement. For his parents, that small percentage felt like the entire world.
Today is Tejas’s birthday.
Not with cake. Not with friends. But in a hospital bed, surrounded by machines.
His father says,
“Doctors said there is slight improvement. But today, I have nothing left.”
The family has sold their house.
They have sold their gold.
They have taken heavy loans.
They are drowning in debt.
There is no money left.
Tejas’s father is himself a brain hemorrhage patient. His blood pressure rises frequently, and his health remains unstable. His mother has gone through spinal surgery in the past and was once paralyzed. Despite her own pain, she is running from hospital to hospital, talking to doctors, pleading for help, and holding her son’s hand every day. This mother is doing everything in her power to save her child.
Doctors have made it clear Tejas’s treatment is long, complex, and expensive. Without financial support, the treatment cannot continue. This family is not asking for comfort. They are asking for a chance to keep their son alive.
They believe that if people come together, maybe that 1–2% improvement can turn into life.
A young life is hanging between hope and helplessness.
A family has already given everything they had.
Now, they are reaching out to you.
If you can donate, please do.
If you cannot, please share Tejas’s story.
Sometimes, survival does not depend on medicine alone.
It depends on people choosing kindness.
Please help Tejas Gupta fight for his life.
