Sayema’s story begins with a series of health challenges right from her birth. At six months old, she started experiencing fits, alarming her parents. During a hospital visit in Kolkata, doctors discovered a small tumor in her mouth, causing significant swelling. After a biopsy, Sayema was diagnosed with Diffuse Gingival Hyperplasia, a condition that causes the gums to overgrow and can lead to severe oral and dental issues. The doctors informed her parents that while surgery was necessary, it could only be performed once Sayema turned ten years old.

As Sayema grew older, her condition worsened. The tumor in her mouth not only caused visible swelling but also severely restricted her ability to eat and speak. Solid foods became impossible for her to consume, and she had to rely solely on liquid nourishment. This restriction not only impacted her physical health but also her social and emotional well-being. The fits continued, occurring once a day, adding to her parents’ distress and sense of helplessness.

When Sayema finally turned ten, her parents returned to the hospital in Kolkata, hoping for a resolution. However, they were referred to OM Hospital in Raipur for further treatment. This added another layer of complexity and financial burden to their already challenging situation. Sayema’s parents have already spent nearly 90,000 INR on her treatment, a sum they had to borrow from various sources, plunging them into debt.

Despite these efforts, Sayema’s condition remains dire. The tumor in her mouth has prevented her from attending school, robbing her of the opportunity to learn, make friends, and enjoy her childhood. The social isolation and the constant physical discomfort have taken a significant toll on her mental health. She dreams of a life where she can eat, talk, and play like other children her age—a life free from pain and embarrassment. Now, there is hope on the horizon. Doctors at OM Hospital have evaluated Sayema’s case and recommended an urgent surgery to remove the tumor and treat her condition effectively.

However, the cost of this life-saving surgery is estimated to be around 10 lakh INR, an amount far beyond what her family can afford. Sayema’s parents are desperate and are turning to the kindness and generosity of strangers to raise the necessary funds. Your donation can make a profound difference in Sayema’s life. By contributing to her surgery fund, you will help alleviate her pain, allow her to eat solid foods, and give her the ability to speak and attend school. More importantly, you will give Sayema a chance at a normal, happy childhood—something every child deserves.
